Shebeen Flick

Irish Film Festival Berlin

Between 2012-2018, every March, Shebeen Flick gave Berliners the chance to see a curated programme with films that had not yet been distributed locally alongside some favourite Irish classics. After receiving requests from the local Irish community in the North Rhine-Westphalia region, the festival hosted screenings in Düsseldorf in 2017 and 2018.

The programme focused on new Irish films without distribution in Germany. Each feature film was paired with a short and, whenever possible, the filmmakers attended the screenings and took part in Q&A sessions with the audience at the Shebeen Pop-up Bar, where both filmmakers and audience could mingle, have a drink and interact in an informal setting.
